About

I’m Zac, a twenty-something guy from Sydney, Australia, who just wanted a place to rant about my past and future adventures!

Growing up, I was fortunate enough to go on an overseas trip with my family every four or five years. All of these trips were to Asia, and all were backpacking, because that’s how my parents have always loved to travel. Their style rubbed off on me, and when I turned 19 I decided to take my first solo trip to Ethiopia. That trip got me even more hooked on backpacking and I haven’t looked back since. During uni, I spent a year on exchange near Berlin which allowed me to visit the whole continent (and beyond) more easily than ever. One of my favourite things to do is hitchhike, and I’ve done so in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Where I’ve travelled

Here’s a map of where I’ve been:

To keep things simple, the one criterion for my map is that I have to have slept somewhere for it to be included.

  1. great report from northern Ethiopia, heartbreaking to see the current situation. Spent just a couple weeks there in 2015, fondly remember it. Thank you 🙂
